Name: Wes Gilliam
How long have you been in Greenville? Eight years
Most interesting fact about you: I've booked somewhere between 1500-2000 shows in my life.
Your background: I grew up loving music, and eventually went on to play in bands for most of high school.
I dabbled in theater, and actually was a theater major my first year of college. I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life until I was around 23, when I went back to school for film.
I went on to continue my education in Los Angeles CA and worked there until the writer's strike. I eventually moved back, and although I dabble in film still, I gradually shifted more towards photography as a hobby/2nd income.
However, I finally made it back to my first love of music, and work as the talent buyer for my venue, Radio Room. I also put on a music festival for 3 years in a row (Hey Look! Music Festival), which I hope to re-launch in 2020.
Currently reading or watching: Blink by Malcolm Gladwell
Hobby: Taking my daughter to the park, or sneaking off to a movie matinee.
Tagline / Motto: "Work hard and be scary" - Robert Rodriguez
Who do you work for? I am one of the co-owners of Radio Room.
What is your day-to-day on the job? Lots and lots of emails, coordinating social media, website maintenance, and then more emails which are usually interrupted by phone calls.
