Name: Jana Candler

How long have you been in Greenville? 18 years!

Most interesting fact about you: I never meet a stranger. I have no problem starting a conversation with anyone. You will most likely find me chatting up someone in the checkout line at Target or Publix. I just love talking with people so they feel noticed.

Your background: I went to twelve schools and four high schools! #armybrat

I always wanted to have more than one child because I was an only child. This was accomplished, we have a son and a daughter. Our daughter is 14 and our son is 11, so we are in throes of middle school! (I feel your pain, fellow Middle School Moms!)

I was a Communications Major at Trevecca Nazarene University, a little Christian College in Nashville, Tennessee. I loved living in Nashville, it is such a great town. Originally, I was going to be a teacher but then I got to my teaching practicum and said, 'no way, I cannot do this,' and quickly changed my major to communications, the middle of my junior year. Why communications you ask? I simply wanted to graduate on time.

My first job out of college was with Saturn Corporation, as in Saturn the car company. Specifically, I was in the Customer Service Department and would get cussed out on a daily basis. It wasn't always lovely but I did learn a lot, such as my drive to exceed customer expectations.

I will close 40 homes this calendar year, my first full year in Real Estate. And to say I love this job, is an understatement. It is a wonderful career that has taught me to listen and listen more. I value the opinion of others more and try to limit inserting myself and my viewpoint. One of the things I love most about being a Realtor, is that there is always more to learn. Every transaction teaches me something new and even seasoned agents haven't seen it all. Maybe being a newbie isn't all that bad. ;)

I try very hard to alleviate the stress in the real estate transaction as well as interactions with clients. Closing houses can be stressful but I try to make everything seamless for my clients. Having been a wedding photographer for over 16 years, those experiences have also taught me how to handle the emotional side of Real Estate.

All I ever wanted to do when I grew up was be a Wife and a Mom. But instead I got two unbelievable careers in both Photography and Real Estate, so that's just the icing on the cake!

Currently reading or watching: Poldark, a British Drama Series on BBC One. Contracts, I read contracts. All the time. There I said it.

Hobby: I enjoy watching my children play sports and hanging out with my husband, Kyle. Maddie is a gymnast and plays basketball. Bennett plays Baseball, Basketball and Football . I'm always at a sporting event and I love it, our lives revolve around our kids and their sports. The parents on our kids teams make life even more fun!

Tagline / Motto: 'If you find something you love then you'll never work a day in your life.'

Who do you work for?
My clients! My children say that I work for them, but let's just let them keep on thinking that ;)

What is your day-to-day on the job? 1. Answering the phone. 2. Answering the phone. 3. Answering the phone.

How do you think Greenville would describe you in one word? Firecracker!

How would you describe Greenville in one word? HomeSweetHome. Wait, is that one word?
