I moved over 25 times before I graduated from college - and no, we weren't a military family! Just gluttons for either adventure or punishment, depending upon how you look at it.

Name: Heather Tomlinson
How long have you been in Greenville? I moved around the country a lot growing up, but came to Greenville after college about 13 years ago and now finally I have the perfect place to call home base!
Most interesting fact about you: Probably that I moved over 25 times before I ever graduated from college - and no, we weren't a military family! Just gluttons for either adventure or punishment, depending upon how you look at it.
Your background: I was a first generation college student that didn't have a clue about how the world operated past my high school walls. I majored in Psychology because I thought I wanted to become a therapist, but plans changed as they often do and I got really immersed in Student Affairs as an Orientation Ambassador and a writer for the Tiger newspaper at Clemson.
I graduated, got an MEd in Educational Counseling, and worked for Clemson's Admissions office before finding part-time work that would allow for more mom time as my kids arrived. The Indigo Mill was birthed from a shared experience with my 2 business partners of being a mom, and wanting to be present in that role, but feeling like we had a lot of creative energy and professional skills to offer the world. It just needed to be on our own terms.
Currently reading or watching: Winter Garden, by Kristin Hannah.
Hobby: I love reading and thrifting. They are both so therapeutic for me to lose myself and just recharge my batteries.
Tagline / Motto: "Community over competition."
Who do you work for? First Presbyterian Church and the Indigo Mill, along with 3 small bosses that call me Mama.
What is your day-to-day on the job? Day-to-day I'm a mom, I work part-time for my church in their Children's Ministry department, and I put time daily into running the Indigo Mill.
How do you think Greenville would describe you in one word? Fresh
How would you describe Greenville in one word? Exciting
Besides residence, where is your favorite Greenville morning hangout? Tommy's Ham House, hands down. They have the best food, coffee and atmosphere in town.
Besides residence, where is your favorite Greenville evening hangout? I love the bar at Nantucket. The bar menu has great bites for a steal and their cocktails and wine selection are unbeatable. Such a fun vibe to dress up and feel fancy for a while.
