Keith Shields How long have you been in Greenville?
Almost three years. Phew, how time flies! Background:
I grew up in cloudy Syracuse, New York – dreading the 120-inches of snoweach year and itching to move south.
Always a computer nerd, all I wanted for my 10th birthday was my first domain name and shortly thereafter built my first website (using a Powerpoint 'background' as the background for the website…hot stuff!) .
After a quick few years at THE Ohio State University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I've finally found that southern paradise I've been looking for in beautiful Greenville, SC. What are you currently reading or watching?
Always seeking to further my understanding of psychology and how that plays into digital product design – continuing that digital nerdiness path all these years later – I'm currently reading "100 Things Every Designer Needs To Know About People
"Do What You Say You're Gonna Do." This is a trait that I know others appreciate in me, and that I always look for in others when hiring, making friends, et cetera. And, it's rarer than you may think! Who do you work for?
I'm a Partner with Designli, where we practice what we call "Psychology Driven Product Design." We lead our clients through the design and implementation of custom mobile software – meaning, helping them conceptualize, design, and develop iPhone apps, Android apps, and web-apps from the ground up – primarily those that are consumer-facing and available for public download on the App Store. Day-to-day on Job:
Hmmm. Well, mostly, I send about 300 emails per day. Really, though, most of my time is spent helping non-technical clients understand the world of digital startups that they're jumping into with both feet. I truly enjoy this about my days as it's super rewarding. How would you describe Greenville in one word?
