How long have you been in Greenville? Five years
Most interesting fact about you: I lived in a small town in China by myself for a year. It was the best kind of hard! Being thrown into another language was challenging, but I learned how to say, "I want coffee." The important things.
Your background: I was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia and moved to Barnwell, South Carolina when I was six.
I had to learn very quickly to make "home" wherever I am, even if it means it's not picture perfect. I learned to love friends like family, since mine was far away and I learned through road trips with Dad and Momma to go the distance for the people you care about.
Now single in my 30s in Greenville, I'm living a life to continue to make "home" wherever I am. I had always hoped to have a home with a my own family close by one day, so after a few broken dreams, I found a part of me I never really knew existed: creating.
What started as creating for the homes of friends grew into creating for buyers on Etsy all over. Southern Bliss was born! Bliss means "great joy."
Joy is what we have despite circumstances. With my country chic style, naturally due to my background, and my story of learning to have "bliss" wherever I am, my heart truly goes into every product. Even though I don't have my own home and family nearby, I get to make something special for everyone else. There is a lot of bliss that comes with that and I'm so grateful to have that opportunity. Currently reading or watching: I don't have time to read or watch TV, but I'll catch The Voice when I'm with friends! I have a not-so-secret crush on Blake Shelton
Hobby: I have a newfound love for line dancing! Every Wednesday at The Blindhorse, they teach line dancing and it is so hard but yet so fun! I've traveled a good bit and there's not many cities that have a country bar like the one we've got.
Tagline / Motto: "Just let it happen." Haha, this can be trouble, and it definitely started as a joke. But I've learned to live life to the fullest! Should I eat that third or fourth taco? Should I take that road trip? Just. Let. It. Happen. Who do you work for? I work for a university part-time where I get to coordinate their social media. It's very challenging but I love how it's growing me professionally in that field.
How do you think Greenville would describe you in one word? Authentic-I get that a lot!
How would you describe Greenville in one word? Cozyyyyyyy
Besides residence, where is your favorite Greenville morning hangout? I do not do mornings...I thought that was supposed to happen in your 30s? If I do manage to make it to brunch, I enjoy Southern Culture or Le Petit. So. Good.
Besides residence, where is your favorite Greenville evening hangout? The Blind Horse Saloon knows how to party and they have a great house band! Otherwise, anywhere downtown with good music and dancing, like Gringos.
