Name: Katie Blackburn
How long have you been in Greenville? All of my life, 30 years.
Most interesting fact about you: I have been in a variety of movies, television shows, commercials and music videos.
Your background: I grew up on the East Side of town, have an older brother and two loving parents that still live in my childhood home here in Greenville.
I started modeling at a young age, around the age of eight, with Millie Lewis as I was much taller than my classmates and friends. Come to find out that I would stop growing a short time after and would quit modeling until ten years ago, when I was 20.
My first roles consisted of local and regional commercials when I was young, nothing really big but I liked it a lot.
Around the age of 20 I would start modeling for NASCAR in Charlotte. It was a great experience and one where I met a lot of people within the industry. Those connections allowed me to move to California where I found myself working in a reality show that was on E! Entertainment. That allowed me to make more connections and I started working full time as a body double for Kristen Wiig.
My experience with Kristen was awesome, she is a great person and we got along really well. Kristen is known for her work on Saturday Night Live, Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters. She's hilarious which and it was a lot of fun working with her, it didn't seem like a job at that point.
I'd start taking a little hiatus from the industry but still freelanced on the side. I'd work throughout college bartending, being a hostess + waitress and other roles within the food/hospitality industry.
My first break came from the TV Show, 'Nashville' and they have an awesome cast + crew. I've never worked with an agent and simply submitted numerous head shots, applications to folks and landed Nashville. That experience led me to eventually move to Nashville, TN where I would gain more roles in both television, movies, commercials, music videos and magazines. 4th Wall is also an acting studio that I have which is also based in Nashville.
This year (2018) has been great. I recently went down to Miami, Florida and made it to the final round of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. I'm also casting with GOOD AMERICAN, women's clothing, founded by the Kardashians. There is also a Chase/Visa commercial that will be coming out soon which I've been featured in.

Hobby: Vintage shopping as I am a big fan of the 80's era. I don't know what it is but I just love all the fashion from that timeframe.
Tagline / Motto: This is not really a tagline/motto but I'm an empath as I soak up other people's feelings.
Who do you work for? Myself, freelance actor + model.
What is your day-to-day on the job? We typically prep a week prior to whatever kind of shoot we are doing. Models and actors have to get fitted in certain outfits, go to the set and figure out set design, lighting. When I am not on set I am preparing for future roles by being online and submitting myself, updating portfolios and reaching out to new photographers.
The typical day, on set, is roughly 12-hours. There are numerous outfit changes, background changes, etc. It can be a long day but it is a lot of fun to interact with folks on the set and meet new people, network.
